Miguel Peidro was born in 1950 in Alcoy, Alicante, Spain.
He received artistic training at a private studio alongsidewell-known Spanish painters such as Vincente Moya, AlexAlemany, and Juan Ferri. Being in the presence of suchtalent, Miguel was inspired to learn as much as possibleand did so within a 5 year period.
Miguel Peidro holds a special sensibility and awarenesstowards nature that clearly resonates through his works.
His choice of the panoramic format accentuates the landscapeand invites the viewer to partake in the artist’s
vision. Upon viewing Peidro’s landscapes, one cannot helpbut get caught in the quiet and meditative portrayals of hisnative Spanish land. Light and reflection are especiallyimportant in Peidro’s landscapes. Light reflecting on
water and surfaces is a mysterious phenomenon to Peidro, which he explores with intrigue and vigor. The water not only reflects the light, but the vitality of the natural world that Peidro admires.
Peidro’s attraction to the force of nature is indisputable. His admiration for both painting and naturetranslates eloquently onto canvas through use of delicate brushstrokes and thick layers of paint. In the artist’s own words, “My passion for both painting and nature are mixed within myself. This is the reasonI paint landscapes. I find much inspiration in taking nature walks during my travels throughout Europe.
I’m not interested in current art trends, I just paint what I like.”
Miguel Peidro’s work has been extensively exhibited and collected throughout Spain, Japan, the United States, Portugal, and China, including an exposition at the Time Arts Museum in Beijing.
Zantman Art Galleries is proud to represent the work of this talented artist.
